Bonding for NTR = £40k over three years post FLC, whereby £40k start deducting from 12 months post FLC, means if you leave within first 12 months you owe £40k, after 3 years plus bond is zero. Contracts used to be automatic 100% for ex-RAF but this is no longer the case. Every application decided on a case-by-case basis.

Rosters published monthly for 2 months ahead, so you can see 4-8 weeks ahead. 130 days off per leave year, min 10 days off per month unless you take leave in the month then number of days off reduced, 2 periods of 3 consecutive days off per month. Only 4 fights can be roster protected to limit scale of any changes to +/- 2hours. One of these per month can be +/- 1 hour. AM/PM Every other duty can be changed. Preferences available for up to 25% of crew. Large number of pilots waiting for preference.

3 groups, rotate each year. Bids alphabetical a-z summer, z-a winter, so possible you don’t get the dates off you want even if in first bid group. 37 days. No wrap round days. Maximum of 9 days to be taken mid may-end sept, max 18 days May 1 - Oct 31. No restriction on other months. Normally 10 days off a month, however if you take leave the company reduce the amount of days off they legally have to give you that month. For example 7 days leave reduces your normal days off by 3 days. Ie 14 days off total. 13 leave days reduces days off by 5. Ie 18days off that month total.

Colleague Discount Scheme. Request hotels and flights via email, a bit hit and miss but occasionally in low season up to 50% off. In the summer it always gets denied due to the holidays selling well. company do offer £200 off one holiday. The £200 colleague discount is also an insurance policy for the company. If you use the discount and incur a 3hour delay on your flight you are prohibited from any subsequent claim under EU261.

Scholorship
FlightPath scheme has launched for the second time in February 2026. Funds the entire route to entry as a pilot. For those who already hold a licence, the Future Second Officer Programme is a unique 20 week development course which gives ab initio Pilots the opportunity to learn about the company, fly as Cabin Crew and experience the day to day operations before embarking on either a B737 or A321 type rating.
Direct entry FO - Online application, follow their form very self explanatory. Within a few days email inviting you to book both an assessment day - at Leeds Holiday House - and a simulator assessment either Bradford (737) or Cheadle (A321).
Also sent AON online testing. The psychometric questionnaire is used to generate questions for your interview.
Assesment day - very relaxed environment everyone is very welcoming and friendly. No group exercise. You are taken upstairs and introduced to the pilots who will be interviewing you and just a 15-20 min informal relaxed chat with everyone with a cuppa.
1-1 interview you and 2 pilots - they are very relaxed and help you feel at ease. However pre study is definelty required to know more about the business and especially the Jet2 values.
Sim assessment - again very relaxed environment. 2 captains, one in the back one in the left seat. Simple SID tracking needles climb decent speed up slow down, raw data ILS and then g/a. They are looking for self analysis and self improvement through the session - not perfection., Practice aptitude and psychometric tests here.
