150 new pilots to join the company between fall '23 and spring '24, and now again a new major recruitement round started for pilots who will join during the 2nd half of '24.
Overall the company is very different than it was before covid and the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Due to much less own flying between Europe and Asia, company now has had various welease and co-operation schemes with other airlines. Currently flying BKK/SIN–SYD for Qantas until 2025, which means frequent week long trips down under for A330/350 pilots. Also HEL/CPH/ARN–DOH co-operation with Qatar airways on A330 going on until 2025. Return to the solid pre-covid strategy of flying mostly 3 day trips to Asia and back is not possible anymore due to Russia. |

MPL program is discontinued UFN. Most pilots join from Finnish Aviation Academy, which is a state sponsored integrated ATPL program. Cost for student 18 000 eur. No type rating costs when joining. Only bond for 3 years. |

Fluent in finnish or swedish is mandatory for this test. It`s a little bit like Lufthansa DLR.
1) First round: numerical, verbal and logical reasoning as well as personality test
2) Second round: multi-tasking capacity, memory, coordination and vigilance tests + some more personality assasment tests
3) Interviews with captains and a psychologist
4) Company medical (more strict rules than for JAA medical) |
