Easyjet are buying out GB Airways, announced 26th October
26/Oct/07
Outlook:
The Bland group (GB Airways Owners) have agreed to sell 100% of their shares to Easyjet, subject to Regulatory Approval. The plan is for GB to continue to operate as a BA Franchise carrier until end of March 2008, then operate as Easyjet (eventually under Easyjet's AOC). Easyjet's take over would mean the closure of the LHR base, with personnel and aircraft being redeployed to LGW. The future of the Manchester Base is uncertain. It looks likely that Easyjet will take on all GB's aircraft and there wont be any forced redundancies for Flight Crew. In light of the proposed take over the Recruitment outlook is uncertain.
Assessment Day: Ice-breaker, Company Presentation by Technical Captain, Group Excercise (discuss and come up with a solution for a ficticious problem), Interview - 45mins of character assessment (very little technical questions if any). If successfull, a Sim check follows in a 737-300 Sim (Gecat or BA Cranebank). Practice aptitude and psychometric tests here.
