 The pilots’ salary is calculated based on either the duty hours or the block hours multiplied by 2.225, whichever is greater. Duty hours exceeding 120 are paid with a surcharge, which doubles for duty hours exceeding 170

Addtional notes: Annual base salary, extra time payment and every item of the salary except per diem, increase every year according to seniority. Moreover, the income is increased in all its parts in accordance with annual inflation rate. In Italy, for airline pilots, the overall taxation ranges from 25% to 30%, depending on the amount of the annual income.
