Pay negotiations concluded in July 2024, 4 year pay deal of 19.3% for senior pilots and 30% for junior pilots and new joiners.

Outlook: |

Whilst the outlook is positive for new hires bear in mind that LHS 330 is currently >24 years. This is unlikely to change as a number of the senior captains due to retire at 60 were hit financially during covid. Many relatively experienced new joiners are looking to leave as they realise that 320 short haul commands will increase back to 8-10 years seniority. The training plans in the past year have had little upgrades or fleet movements and there is no reason to doubt that this won't continue as there is little expansion planned. Also the cost of living in Ireland and Dublin in particular means that a copilot joining Emirates will out-earn an EI captain with greater than 15 years seniority. Note also that it is difficult to commute in EI given its thin European route network and timings. |
